Shurly some mistake

Don't mind if I do!

In what was obviously the aftermath of Ride to Work Day, a work colleague had a sticker on their desk saying "I love riding to work".

For some seconds, I thought it said "I love drinking at work".

What this says about my default mental position, I shudder to think.

  1. I know what that's like. I was in a waiting room and I thought the button on the wall had a little sign saying 'Press for horse' and I thought how wonderful! But it was 'Press for nurse'

  2. Squib that's great!

Ramon, I hear you buddy. Someone asked me this morning if I'd like a coffee and I replied, really, really meaning it, that actually I'd much prefer a beer. I ended up having a date scone instead of either beer or coffe but I think your and my hearts lie in the same direction.

[Lie in the same direction? Is that even a saying? What is the saying? Stop saying 'saying' in there!]

I guess if you can't have a beer in the morning, then hash infused snack foods are a pretty decent alternative.

  4. No, dope is not on my list, Alex.

Apologies, I'll keep my apparently dope-effected-sounding thoughts offline from now on.

  5. Kettle, it's probably because I come from an occupation where drinking on the job was not only not frowned upon - it was seen as a badge of honour.

"Whadda mean you're not drinking at work? Get a skinfull inta ya!"
