Hunter Thompson or Terry Gilliam fan, Ramon?

Very much a Hunter S Thompson fan, Alex.

HST summed up my previous occupation quite well when he said "journalism is neither a profession nor a career, but a cheap catch all for fuck-ups and misfits".

Come to think of it, I don't think I've ever really read any of his stuff. Certainly not any of his books. Where's a good place to start? What's Fear And Loathing On The Campaign Trail like?

It's good Alex, but it's also about 400 pages.

Unless you're very keen on reading about the 1968 US election campaign, I'd suggest you start with either Fear and Loathing in Los Vegas or some of his shorter journalism.

The Great Shark Hunt is a good place to start.

I don't think I could face reading Fear And Loathing In Las Vegas. I've just seen the movie too many times.

I did pick up a copy of The Great Shark Hunt, though. Thanks for the recommendation, Ramon. He certainly has a compelling style, eh?

I wonder what he would've made of the whole "Occupy Movement" thing?

He would have keenly observed the whole thing from a near-by bar stool, then stumbled into the gathered throng believing it to be a deep pile Persian Rug and vomited on it.

I'm baaaack!

Once I have photos, I will post some for all of you.

Sorry I went AWOL. I had far too much on. Trust me to bite off more than I could chew.

How is everyone?
