I believe in getting them young.

Conversation around the family dinner table recently.

The Boy: "The oldest women in the world is 150. Just think of all the things she's seen and done."

Me: "You know Boy, a lot of people think living a good life isn't just about the number of years you've lived but the good things you've done and how you've helped your friends and community.

........................

........................

"And never voting Liberal."

The Misses (wearily): "Ramon, give a break for five minutes."

UPDATE

Just the other day.

The Boy: "Dad, how do you defeat The Boss?"

Me: "Well, joining a union is always a good start."

The Boy: "Daaaaad, I was talking about my video game!!"

Me: "Oh.

"Sorry."

I think I need psychiatric* help.

* I mean more psychiatric help.

Obvs.

No I agree with your method, Ramon. Those five minutes of vaccuum could see a Liberal opportunist come in and try to influence him.

Keep up the good work sir.

I shudder to think what your boy's rebellious years are going to be like, Ramon.

But since we're on the subject of politics: I spent some of Sunday catching up after a few weeks of paying less attention to these things than I probably should (election's only a year away). I saw a lot of talk about Alan Jones out cunting himself yet again and how it might actually bite a chunk out of his tiresome old arse this time around. Okay, so that's good news, I suppose. But interspersed with that was some stuff about Slipper's scandalously sexist sms messages, which caught my interest, but I can't seem to find any details other than that he might have called Mal Brough a cunt. Now, if calling Mal Brough a cunt makes someone a misogynist, I guess I've been one for years, so I'm assuming there's a little more to it than that. Can anyone fill me in on this one?

Kind of sad that I don't have something more substantial to ask about, but that seems to be the nature of things at the moment, aye? Which makes me think, if you were 150, it'd have to be pretty bloody depressing watching the way the monkeys (media) are running the circus at the moment, d'ya reckon?

It's a bit nastier than that, Alex but given it's still before the courts, I'll err on the side of caution.

This time.

No worries, Ramon. It seems that in the last 24 hours or so, around 50 less cautious people have put up articles. Still, from the stuff I've seen, the misogynist element looks to be the least of it. Or maybe I'm less sensitive to it than the average bear. Or something.

This.

Is magnificent.

My old man (who is not a Gillard fan) called me last night while he was watching the news to ask "Did you hear what that dickhead just said about the Labor party dieing of shame? What the fuck is wrong with that bloke?"

Ramon it is magnificent.

Over on mine, Alex and I are wondering if Abbott will stay and then win.

What is your take? Will this be enough to fuck him off and maybe get Turnbull back? The fallout and attention is quite spectacular, not just in this country.

This is the only place I know to come but I want to say congrats to squib. She's gotten something published and it's very exciting.

I'll head to Kettle's now, might find her there.

And hey everyone. How's it hanging? (this is gender-neutral: I could be talking about breasts/labia AND penis/testes.)

Congratulations Squibsie. That's awesome.

How are the Squiblings coping? I know moving towns can be a big deal when you're in school; I imagine a new country is even more so. Then again, with the internet now, maybe it isn't so much?

Don't worry about lack o' Chrissy tidings. I owe you about four so please do not apologise you marvellous thing you.

We spell marvellous with two ls, don't we? Fuck this spellcheck.

Well done, Squibsie.

Melbs, Tony Abbott will never be Prime Minister of this country.

Alex - Squiblings are fine. We're a BIT stressed trying to find a rental that will accept our dog

From whence cometh your assuredness, good Insertnamehere? Methinks I could use a cup. Or two.

Squib, glad to hear the Squiblings are in good spirits. Hope you find somewhere decent that will take the Squibhound. It'd be a sad start if you had to leave her behind, no?

They don't have unions in video games? What's going on?

BTW apologies to anyone who received some weird email with a Polish link from me. Have changed my password on my account, had no idea.

Hope all well.
