Get drunk. Look at Moss.

God, it's hard being a poet

Long lines sent to Lin Hu-Ch'u before he comes to visit my tumbledown home

by Po Chü-I (772-846 AD)

No esteem for the stately caps and carriages of consequence,
in love with woods and streams, I go out and doze, perhaps,

drunk beside the pond. I’ve stopped trying to save the world,
just wander herb paths, keep my little fishing boat swept out.

Serving the poetry master with writing-brush and inkstone,
I’m steadied by music and my friend, the immortality in wine,

but for lofty sentiments, I stay close to things themselves:
green moss, rock bamboo-shoots, water lilies in white bloom.

Looking at moss.

Should we be looking at Ian Moss or Kate Moss?

I've never heard of Ian Moss

Blogger is still on the blink

I don't think I've heard of Ian or Kate. I have heard of Pete, though, if that helps.

"Get drunk. Look at Moss."

Stage direction for Jimmy Barnes?

Pete is an ace poet

Thats a lousy life for the washed up wife of a permanently plastered, pissed up bastard

I'm fucked, forlorn, frozen

Such rhyme and alliteration!

It makes me feel old when people don't know Ian Moss. You too Ramon?

Like today, the little bit of fluff that was the real estate agent asked me if "skewiff" was a word.

What she actually said was "that's not a word is it?"

Context was "the toilet seat is skewiff."

Idiot.

I am also a bit old and extinct, Melba. I'm just not good with names. I wish everyone would wear a name badge, Kate, Ian, all the rest

Skew-whiff is in the Shorter OED. It's even in the Concise

Yeah Melba, don't let it get ya down. I'd say it probably reflects more on my lack of knowledge than your advanced years. After all, I didn't know who Gaga or Kee$ha were, either.

But I definitely woulda known what was wrong with your toilet seat.

I saw Ian Moss and Iva Davies play a bushfire relief concert together at Palm Beach pub many years ago. They did a 20 minute rendition of Jean Genie, the place was packed and we all had a great time. Ian Moss looked hot in a tank top he had obviously been working out and had very well sculpted shoulders and biceps - that I remember clearly.
