"Just shut the fuck up!"
I was going to write something about the ever-present nonsense coming from the Canberra Press Gallery about Labor's "leadership crisis" but then I realised that if I listened to one more second of this crap, I'd go
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAG
And I didn't want to do that.
Have a look at Mr Denmore's excellent take on it here.
Also, he's much funnier.
UPDATE
So, the challenge is on.
My money (for what it's worth - which isn't much) is for a convincing Gillard victory.
But either way, for the sake of the Party, for the sake of the country and for the sake of my sanity, I hope it's pretty clear-cut.
Go the bloodnut!

Interesting timing Ramon. I actually literally had an "AAAAG!" moment last night.
I had just watched Monday's Q&A on iview where a woman had basically been fobbed off for asking the question "Hey news people, how about giving some attention to the fucking news for a change?" (maybe not a direct quote); and I was part-way through watching Monday's Lateline when I heard Emma Alberici ask the parliamentary secretary for education (or something) "Isn't the problem with this government that the leadership problems are overshadowing everything else and taking oxygen away from anything the government tries to say?" and I started yelling "For fuck's sake Emma, YOU are the one who decides how much attention a story gets. Asking that is like clubbing someone with their own arm and asking "Why are you hitting yourself? Why are you hitting yourself?". And then my neighbor banged on the wall and shouted "Oi".
Fucking hell, this is the reason I stopped watching commercial television.
I reckon a lot of people right now are having an "AAAAG!" moment, Alex.
I don't like what he's saying about Crean. Much throwing of toys from pram
Think we need an updateski? Now that Rudd has resigned? Smooth move or something else? It's things like this that re-pique my interest in what has become a very dull sport.
Well Kev, thanks a bunch for putting "faceless men" back front and centre. I look forward to hearing it forcibly inserted into every news report from now until the end of the year.
Melba, I sincerely fear that what we are moving towards is an Abbott government.
RUDD SHOCK RESIGNATION - COMBET CHALLENGE?
Hey guys. Long time no post.
Have you been over to The Spin Starts Here.com lately? Check out what appears to be a countdown to something.
I miss that site.
Check out what appears to be a countdown to something.
Let's hope the countdown has been posted by Walter Jeremy Sears Oncologist!
I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but what I'm seeing appears to be some sort of online record store. Registered to a chap in Utah.
Ah Walter Jeremy Sears. Good memories.
Or the schoolboys on the trams, the gyro gearloose dude.
2005-2006 were amazingly good years to be on the internet for that site alone.
Alex,
If it isn't registered to Agent Hambo, it probably doesn't matter.
Well, Chris Uhlmann seems to be making the call that there's no way the media will let up on this while both of them remain in parliament.
Uhlmann's a goose.
Kinda looks like Mad Monk & Co have jumped into full campaign mode, doesn't it? I guess they must think they can smell an early election coming.
It's Gillard.
73 to 29.
Say "bye bye" Kev.
You reckon the meedja will be able to move on, Ramon?
And what's your call for who gets the A from the ministry?
In response to your questions, Alex.
No.1 Nup.
No.2 Apart from Kruddy?
Maybe Carr, maybe McClellan.
I think any changes will be pretty minimal.
You reckon we're probably stuck with Ferguson as resource & energy minister then?
No.1 Nup.
Hrmm, quite. Just going on what I've heard so far, here's my predictions for story angles we might see over the next week or so:
ALP demonstrates disconnect with Australian people by sticking with Gillard.
Gillard's position untenable as almost a third of caucus wants her gone.
Rudd hints at a continuing campaign of instability by failing to explicitely rule out every conceivable scenario for taking another run at leadership ever.
How much furniture can Labor save as Tony Abbott declared new prime minister in waiting. Andrew Robb confused.
Enraged Dick Adams eats annoying commentators in retaliation for stupid implied fat jokes.
