Monday Art Appreciation

A triptych I saw at the Prado in Madrid. The Garden of Earthly Delights by Hieronymus Bosch.

Discuss (because I am lazy).

And as much as I hate to list it as a source, Wikipedia has some interesting close up details.

I do like some Harry Bosch.

Australian band The Clouds even wrote a song about him.

And isn't that Malcolm Turnbull in the right panel, having something inserted into his bottom?

I thought you wouldn't like this one because it had an owl in it, Ramon.

I'm sure Malcolm Turnbull would rather be in that position at the moment.

I'm big enough to rise above owls in the name of art, Puss.

What about in the name of lol*?

Like this one?

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

No.

That's just wrong and evil.

That's very nice. It's very modern for such an old painting

I love this painting. I could be wrong but I think this was the inspiration for the set for the ballet The Firebird? I could look it up but you know, I can't be bothered.

I'm waering your Julia Gillard button on my overcoat lapel, Squib.

It is much admired.

Oh that's good, Ramon. I was worried it wasn't the right picture of her

I always have my Darwin badge on my handbag with a squirrel

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

Is it a real squirrel Squib?

Because that would be sort of cool.

Unknown said...

Does the squirrel have the handbag? Or does the squirrel have the badge?

I'm confused.

The squirrel is in my bag

I've seen the Malcolm Turnbull character in pop culture somewhere. A Monty Python movie? A Pink Floyd video? The cover of a Harry Potter book?

The squirrel is in my bag

That was going to be my next guess.

Which crime novel series had Harry Bosch as a detective?
