Und jetzt...

Senator Nick Minchin has announced he's leaving politics.

Well comrades, the creative juices have been flowing, the synapses have been doing whatever the hell synapses do and the pot is...errr...on the boil.

I've written half a dozen posts, each more hilarious and bizarre than the last.

But you'll have to wait for 'em, as I'm going away for a week.

Suck rocks.

So, who was Nick Minchin ??

Seriously, I had no idea who he was till he resigned.

Ramon how is 'suck rocks' in any way fair?

Mad Cat Lady said...

isn't that what they recommend if you are lost in the desert without water or something?

Perhaps it was just a poetic way of saying to hold on whilst we suffer in his absence?

Pepsi: Read the bloody papers.

Wait on... I'm going away for a week as well, but the following week (5th - 11th). Bob has lost his desire, so, Puss and Squib, it's up to you.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

Good point, Kettle.

Just cruel then.

Lewd Bob said...

Not loss of desire. Just loss of motivation and, also, very fucken busy at the moment.

Dude, you don't want to rely on me. I'm likely to just post pictures of the latest shoes I've bought.

Bob Bob Bob - I'm still waiting to hear how Malkmus was.

Have a pleasant trip/holiday/non-posting period Ramon.

Does this mean tomorrows poem will be happy?.

squib said...

I shall post a happy poem tomorrow

If that's OK

Is that an owl crossed with a cat?

Coincidentally, I too shall be gone for a week. Although, it looks like I'll have to scrounge up some internet access while I'm away, so as not to miss Puss' exciting "new shoe" post.

Yes I vote for Shoe Friday as well as Happy Poem Friday from squib.

Can we have a double?

Yes, a happy poem please with no drowning deaths - hubby has been recruited for Friday night sailing again.

Puss In Boots said...

Wait a second, Melba - are you serious? You actually *want* to read about the shoes I have bought recently?

Perseus said...

New shoe post? Yeah, why not? I'm happy for any post.

Puss, I'd like to see pictures of the latest shoes you've bought. I need some shoe inspiration.

I don't know about Melba, but I was serious. I haven't got a clue about shoes. But you're into fashion and stuff, so you like, know shoes. I'm set to be fascinated.

I just bought new shoes about an hour ago. Nothing exciting. Just a pair of Converse.

Can't wait to earn some money & buy some pretty ones.

Puss In Boots said...

Wow. I was joking when I wrote that comment, but if you guys actually want to see them, then I bow to your will!

With apologies to Boogey (and Mabel? Martha? Maggie? I can't remember her name), I will post about my latest shoe purchases!

WitchOne said...

I lurrrrrv shoes.. This is going to be the best post EVER!

Come on Puss, where is it??

Melba said...

I was serious. I think Shoe Friday is an excellent idea. And a bit of poetry to boot.

Heh.

I'd also like a brief (very brief), yet witty roundup of the AFL seeing as I refuse to spend the little internets time I have right now on sport.

Also, I hear tell that the Libs got in for the Tasmanian state election - is that true? If so, bloody good thing I left the country then.

EMS, last I heard, it looked like Labor and the Libs had won 10 seats apiece, with the remaining 5 going to the Greens. But since the Libs had got a slightly higher percentage of the vote, they were going to be given the chance to form government. I reckon it's going to be interesting to see how well that all works out.
