A nice cuppa PSF

Huzzah!

In my own hands I hold a bowl of tea; I see all
of nature represented in its green color.
Closing my eyes I find green
mountains and pure water within my own heart.
Silently sitting alone
and drinking tea, I feel these become part of me.

Is this some sort of ad for Dilmah's herbal tea range?

If it is, I like it. Hooray for tea.

oh thank you
I needed that

Of course tea consumption greatly increases your chance of getting arthritis. Think about that as you drink your next cup

Kettle said...

Squibsy any chance you're writing some kind of angry-type poem at the moment?

squib said...

I'm working on a feminist one at the moment

That's one study, Squib.

Hmm, well doesn't explain it.

I've just noticed a certain grizzliness in some of your comments lately; you know, tea drinkers have only arthritis to look forward, other people's kids are devil's spawn, etc. Just thought you might be working on some kind of anti-Coalition piece.

Oh dear me. Only ever said in jest, sorry

It's worth it. But still, did that study pertain to all teas or just the black stuff?

And a grizzly feminist poem sounds ace.

Alex, yeah I wondered that. Only anecdotal but I know someone who had bad arthritis and couldn't do up a buckle (she works with horses so this was a major problem). She stopped drinking tea and is now OK. Could be placebo or coincidence of course

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

Coincidence, I'm thinking.

I bet it refers only to chamomile tea.
I never liked that stuff.

Ramon,
I'm concerned. Very, Very concerned.

A post in praise of a non-alcoholic beverage is one thing, but a post praising a non-alcoholic beverage posted as late in the day as 10:32am in journalistic circles is cause for alarm.

Clearly, something major has happened in your life. What ever it is, not drinking is not the solution. I know, I've been there myself. I wasted days of my life until a concerned friend introduced me to NonAlAnon and their 12 step program.

The program is very simple, whenever you're tempted not to have a drink, call your NonAlAnon sponsor, who will pick you up at your home or office and drop you off 12 steps from the door of the nearest pub.

You are not alone, NonAlAmon is here to help.

Best wishes,

E

Blasphemy!! There is nothing that calms me down better than brewing a 2-cup pot of tea in the evening. From leaves, of course. And preferably Early Grey. And no milk! Milk ruins tea.

Squibsy, if you want some material for your feminist poem, you should visit stfusexists.tumblr.com. I read that daily, and man does it get me riled. That's usually why I need a pot of tea each night. Well, that and stfuconservatives. I swear at least half the population are not fit to live in a human society.

*rolls eyes*

That's exactly what a tea drinker *would* say.

Milk ruins tea.

This is truth; and it's why you have to be careful when asking for "white" tea.

Thanks for sharing, Puss; looks interesting. And since this might be up your alley: that little clip with the bloke comparing misogyny to racism (in the 'Hillary Clinton' video) is from this doco on the projection of masculine identity within hip-hop culture. Not bad, but you'll probably need more than two cups by the end*.

*The most charming bit, I think, comes about three quarters in, when one fellow raps about "getting his rape on". Classy, I know.

Students are always saying shit like that these days. As in, "I'm totally raping this assignment" (or more likely, "This assignment is totally raping me"). Or, "I'm totally raping your Facebook page". I hate it. I don't think it's funny at all. They may have moved on from the "it's soooo gay" saying, but to this? Urgh.
