The Australian. Oh dear.

The Australian's latest columnist "Why I want to bite Kevin Rudd in the head".

Very interesting and well written piece, looking at the troubles over at The Australian, on the Australian internet magazine Inside Story.

The only comment I'll make is to replay Julia Gillard's crack - something along the lines of "If The Australian published yesterday's football scores, I'd still want to double check".

And is it just me or is Janet Albrechtsen increasingly looking like she's about to go postal in the ALP caucus room with a butter knife?

Off topic but quickly can you nominate Victoria's crappest country town for me? I need one urgently.

Moe.

Morwell's worse.

Personally, I like The Australian on weekends. The Saturday Age is an over-rated piece of shit. I use it to get the potbelly going.

Moe's bad but too obvious, I was told West Wyalong's a hole but I've never been there.

For non-obvious I recommend Birregurra. When you drive into town you can see the guns pointing out the windows. Also, they have an annual ute festival.

Or there's always Mirboo North. Inbreeds.

Most of Gippsland is pretty scary.

And Crikey's been pretty shit, of late.

Bena. I know you've never heard of it. It is a speed trap held together by a rogue's second hand shed and a grocery/postoffice.

A bit. I still prefer it to the mainstream press though. I like Guy Rundle's work and First Dog. Bernard Keane is hard to read.

"Caucus"

I love that word.

Do things ever get raucous in the caucus?

Catblogging being a prime example of this.

I'd be looking in irrigation country, e.g. Tatura, or worse still former-irrigation country e.g. Kerang.

Special mentions to Ouyen and Kaniva.

West Wylong is in New South.

Oi, Dr. Golf. You leave Ouyen alone. A fine place it is. Only awesome people come from Ouyen.

Yes EMS.

Yes, they do.

Credit where it's due. Yesterday I said Bernard Keane is hard to read and then he delivered an excellent article on Hu and Australians incarcerated overseas.

I've always like Bern's stuff.

Guy Rundle I hate with a passion.

May I ask why Ramon? He seems to be somewhat of a political scientist, like yourself. Professional rivalry perhaps?

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

I find him neither intelligent or original, a pale Hunter S Thompson wanna be.

Also - we seem to be getting a hammering in the cricket.

wari lasi said...

There's no "seem to be" about it. We're getting hammered. Punter got a bit unlucky though.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

Punter is a useless, fat idiot.

wari lasi said...

Great batsman (normally) crap skipper. Putting North on when he did? Fucking stupid.

Punter is a useless, fat idiot.

Now this I'll take issue with. Useless? Yes. Idiot? Undoubtedly. Fat? Uh, I don't think so.

I'm old/young enough to remember a certain Merv Hughes and a certain Mark "Tubby" Taylor (I mean, it's right there in his name) and a certain Shane "I'm a fat, sleazy prick" Warne. Those guys you could safely call "on the larger side".

Ponting's a douche, but he's not a fat douche.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

I mean he's mentally fat.

Does that even make sense?

Melba said...

I get you Ramon. You can call someone a big, fat idiot. It's attributing largeness to the idiot part, not to the person's body.

Kids understand this type of sentence structure.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

Thank you Melba.

Sometimes I confuse even myself.

Unknown said...

Oh!

Right. You mean a "BIGFATIDIOT!"

Gotcha.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

Although if they in fact manage to pull off a win tonight, I reserve the right to pretend I never said any of this.

Fad MD said...

If they win tonight it won't have had a lot to do with Punter.

The smh has summed him up though, check out the picture at:

Every time he gets interviewed and he hasn't shaved I shudder. But only because of Ramon.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

115-run loss.

Punter is a useless, fat idiot.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

And would it kill you to shave, you slob?
