A very special, non Christmas, PSF.

"I've been dead for 46 years and I still have more teeth than Shane MacGowan"

Last night as I slept
I dreamt I met with Behan
I shook him by the hand and we passed the time of day
When questioned on his views
On the crux of life's philosophies
He had but these few clear and simple words to say

I am going, I am going
Any which way the wind may be blowing
I am going, I am going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing

I have cursed, bled and sworn
Jumped bail and landed up in jail
Life has often tried to stretch me
But the rope always went slack
And now that I've a pile
I'll go down to the Chelsea
I'll walk in on my feet
But I'll leave there on my back

Because I'm going, I am going
Any which way the wind may be blowing
I'm going, I'm going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing

Oh the words that he spoke
Seemed the wisest of philosophies
There was nothing ever gained
By a wet thing called a tear
When the world is too dark
And I need the light inside of me
I'll walk into a bar
And drink fifteen pints of beer

Because I'm going, I am going
Any which way the wind may be blowing
I am going, I am going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
I am going, I am going
Any which way the wind may be blowing
I am going, I am going
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
Where streams of whiskey are flowing
Where streams of whiskey are flowing

Well, what a long, strange trip it’s been.

See you on the other side comrades and a very Merry Christmas*. Especially to EMS who, at this very moment, is crouched over a heater somewhere in London muttering “cold…so very cold”.

*Or is it “Happy Christmas”? I can never remember.

I'll second that and add much encouragement in drinking plenty o' beer.

It's Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, Ramon.

Same to you old chum.

Any chance of someone doing a Perseus on NYE and putting up a whole bunch a music videos? Bob? It's the only way this old stick in the mud can find out about new music.

Many Happy Returns to Horus, Attis, Osiris, Krishna, Zoroaster, Buddha, Mithra, Heracles, Dionysus, Tammuz, Hermes, Bacchus, Prometheus, Jesus and all the other deities who celebrate their birthdays this Saturday, and a special "Cheerio" to all their Virgin Mums without whom Boxing Day Sales would not be possible.

To all here,
Relax, Consume, Enjoy and may the New Year treat you with kindness.

I hope the big red guy brings you all what you want. Just waiting for my little man to go to sleep so I can place what I hope he wants under the tree ('skateboard' is top of his list).

And we've lost The Ashes!

To the English!

It's enough to make you spit.

How did you know?! Well...kind of, I was crouched over a heater in Kent. But it was still cold. The ice finally melted. We even had sunshine on one day over Christmas. I got some nice presents, ate some nice food, drank moderately (I know!) and then promptly got food poisoning.

Bah humbug! Hope the rest of you had a nice one and that it stopped raining in Australia long enough for you all to get outside for some backyard cricket.

Oh. Wait. Probably shouldn't mention cricket, should I? Maybe that was what made me so ill?

It's enough to make you spit.

Or vomit.
