Yeah, take that, you king, you!
For God's sake, let us sit upon the ground
And tell sad stories of the death of kings;
How some have been deposed; some slain in war,
Some haunted by the ghosts they have deposed;
Some poison'd by their wives: some sleeping kill'd;
All murder'd: for within the hollow crown
That rounds the mortal temples of a king
Keeps Death his court and there the antic sits,
Scoffing his state and grinning at his pomp,
Allowing him a breath, a little scene,
To monarchize, be fear'd and kill with looks,
Infusing him with self and vain conceit,
As if this flesh which walls about our life,
Were brass impregnable, and humour'd thus
Comes at the last and with a little pin
Bores through his castle wall, and farewell king!
And remember, regicide is not the murder of a man called Reggie.

Regina makes me laugh cos it's a little like vagina.
I'm glad you're not into vaticide, Ramon
I'm more into Strigiformesicide, Squib.
Have you seen Bush Slam? I saw the one set in Stanley. God it was awful
You mean the programme where ordinary Aussies recite their own poetry, Squib?
I'd rather be locked in a small room with Tony Abbott, quite frankly.
What about a room full of owls?
HG Nelson was the host so the awfulness was compounded to the point that I lost the will to live
Tony Abbott and a room full of owls?
Yeah, that might work.
City Slams are bad enough. Bush Slam? Thats a precedent to allow small children to run around with sparklers topped with nukes.
One of my top five lines of all time from 'The Simpsons' is:
Automated phone: Hello, and welcome to the Springfield Police Department "Rescue Phone"! If you know the name of the felony being committed, press one. To choose from a list of felonies, press two. If you are being murdered, or are calling from a rotary phone, please stay on the line.
[Bart presses four numbers on the phone]
Automated phone: You have selected "regicide!" If you know the name of the King or Queen being murdered, press one.
Hey Perseus, I always laugh a little at 'Tomtit'; now I can add 'regina' to my giggle list.
That was a good Simpsons, Kettle.
You might also like to add to your list "Wankle Rotary Engine".
Wankle, Ramon, aaaahahahahahahaha!
What do you reckon, Pers, does that make your list too?
I've got a wankle engine. I also giggle every time someone says it out loud.
Ahh, Dr Felix Wankel's marvelous invention, that both makes a lot of noise and uses a lot of fuel...
I still giggle every time I drive down the Monash Freeway and go under the sign for Ernst Wanke Drive
I wonder if Lizzy sits around worrying about such things.

I so want to add an "e" and an "r" every time I see it.
I'm just happy they've got Blackadder back on Go on a Friday night. I saw Bush Slam - it was nice to see Stanley again, we went there on our honeymoon in 2003, although the scenery was the only bit I really enjoyed of the show.
Yeah, Stanley's awesome. And to get there you have to drive past my parent's place. You might just see my dad on the ride-on mower, nursing a very strong home-brew (courtesy of our crazy neighbour). Give him a honk & a wave if you do see him, but try not to run him over kthx.
I'm going to get him a stackhat next Christmas.
Ah Tassie. Everyone knows everyone.
I remember ascending 'The Nut' circa 2003. I stood at the top, took in the view and thought "Jesus I could go a beer".
The last time I climbed it was in primary school & we weren't allowed to have beer afterwards. Someone did puke on the bus ride back to school though (not me), so they may as well have let us have one.
The Stanley pub does a great counter lunch and a great beer, btw.
I think I ran to the pub from the top. When I said 2003, I actually meant 1993. Boy. That went fast.
We signed the visitors book in the pub but never bothered climbing the nut - I don't remember why. As I recall quite a few of the shops were owned by one person - it was pretty touristy.
EMS, I notice in the papers today that Tasmania is often refered to as "the trout-fishing capital of Australia".
You must be so proud.
Are you going to the Test in Hobart?
I've got no plans to go to the cricket, but it doesn't mean I won't end up there at some point. I'm not a huge cricket fan, but give me a picnic basket with some goodies & plenty of cold beers & a book and I'd happily sit at Bellereive watching some dudes stand around a paddock in between chapters.
Witchy is a bit right. The Taste officially is over, but there are plenty of private versions occurring in backyards everywhere. Also, there's a stack of music festivals on the go at the moment.
I was lucky enough to go to Falls at Marion Bay for free & hang around the VIP tent. My buddy went to Soundscape yesterday, but I couldn't afford it. On the 21st I'm going to see Grandmaster Flash who is down here for the MONA FOMA festival. Brian Ritchie from the Violent Femmes has a hand in organising it. He & his wife run a Japanese tea house in North Hobart & you can go along & have awesome food/tea while he serenades you on one of those Japanese flute thingys.
Hobart in summer is several different kinds of awesome.
Ramon, Tassie definitely is the trout capital. I caught a rainbow trout when I was about 9, & I'm a shit fisher-person. So, yeah, the fishing's good here. I've also caught and eaten eel. I found it oily and dissatisfying, unlike the trout.
Were you on the turps when you wrote that, Witchie?
Is that the one in Salamanca EMS? Been there, it was good!
MONA FOMA? There are a bunch of different venues I think, depending on the act.
Or, if you mean Soundscape, that's held at the regatta grounds.
I'd love to go to Falls for free again, but I won't be in the country this time next year! I'm going to have to find some UK festivals to go to instead. I've been told I have to save up my money to go to Glastonbury.
