It's our birthday, but you get nothing. Nothing!

A year ago today, a man called Stubadubb had a dream.

A dream of a blog, attracting the finest writers on the internet. A blog where the important issues of politics, culture and music could be discussed in a lively, intelligent manner. A blog which could range from the whimsical, to the serious, to the furious without regard to shibboleths or doctrine.

A blog, in short, that would finally realise the potential of the information revolution.

But he couldn’t come up with any takers, so he started this site instead.

A year, eh?

Fuck, who’d have thunk it?

The most amazing thing is that it hasn't self destructed. TSSH and TH style.

What ever happened to Atari? I wonder if she watches over us?

wari lasi said...

I forgot SR!

Happy Birthday TSFKA. I still find the grammatical error in the site's name quite ironic. Was it deliberate I wonder? Is it really a grammatical error at all?

Raven said...

I choose to believe it is deliberate.
Congratulations on your 1st birthday, TSFKA! May you continue to amaze and amuse us for many more to come.

Perseus said...

Happy Birthday to us! And to our 21 'followers'. We're hardly setting the blogworld on fire, but who else has 'Poetry Slam Friday' I ask?

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

Nobody else, that's who Pers.

We're so fuckin' cultured, we've got it coming out of our arse.

Perseus said...

Before our second birthday, I'd like to see a troll. You know you've made it as a blog when you get trolled.

wari lasi said...

We're so fuckin' cultured, we've got it coming out of our arse.

Or to quote the semi popular Barry Humphries, "We've got more culture than a yoghurt factory"

Cath said...

As one of the elite few who are followers of this here fine blog, I say, What Ho! and Happy Birthday TSFKA'ers! Keep entertaining the masses and giving it to the establishment!

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

I'd like to see a troll.

Clam?

Walt?

kitten said...

Its because there are only 21 followers that it hasnt imploded like TSSH.
I still want to know where Imelda went to ...

Desci said...

We probably don't get as many trolls because we tend to be more polite to each other than on other sites.

Well, polite, or just better at ignoring/scrolling through the comments of the people we can't stand, like I do for Wari Lasi and Kitten.

But I like that most of us have enough of a history to get involved in surly debate and petty name calling and still be mates afterwards.

I love birthdays. Happy birthday to TSFKA. Where is Stubba? Did he find work in the end?

Melba said...

Happy Birthday Blog. I was very happy to find this place and I like it here. Thanks for being welcoming to someone new. I try to behave myself but sometimes I get a little garrulous.

Perseus said...

"sometimes I get a little garrulous."

We have Desci.

One doesn't notice little garrulousnesses from elsewhere.

We seemed to have lost a few along the way. Loose Shunter and Stubb are meant to be bloody contributors! So is Boogeyman, but he makes busy with his time by making my life hell with all his 'logic' and 'reason', so I can understand why he hasn't the time to post.

And whatever happend to Jamie?

And blowins like Red Setter?

And where's Witchy? And Leilani? Why hath they foresaken us?

And my favourite, 'Not Catlick'?

Raven said...

"I still want to know where Imelda went to ..."

I suspect she drowned in her own ejaculate (or her own bullshit)

Lewd Bob said...

I baked a a cake and ate it myself.

patchouligirl said...

Happy Birthday TSFKA! I guess the enemies of the other two sites got bored watching us ressurect ourselves.

Leilani said...

I'm still here, I've just become slack at commenting. I'm conserving my energy so I can lie on the couch watching Mad Men.

And Happy Birthday. I was in a the book shop yesterday and noticed a book called "Tossers and Arseblowers". I thought of you guys.

Happy Birthday TSFKA!

I, for one, wait the return of the St. Jizz boys, or SGS....

wari lasi said...

I just wanted to post a message for Desci to scroll past

First birthday parties usually involve small children making themselves sick on cake whilst the birthday boy /girl gets nothing more than milk and maybe an organice rice cake if they're lucky.

May Stubb have Kahlua in his milk and lamb medallions on his rice cakes.

On this momentous occasion Stubb I will give you the gift of NOT flirting with Pers anymore... promise.

Oh and as for TSSH.. everytime I see the Target logo I think of Caz and Hack, not the megastore.

Funny that.

So we have a spew making backslapping love fest of congratulations & where are they now nostalgia going on here - how sweet.

I watched the final of I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out of Here S3 last night, where the guy from Eastenders won. There was lots of Mr Sulu snogging to boot - even sweeter.

I don’t know which one was worse, here or the rainforest...... but I’m compelled to keep watching both.

Anyways happy birthday you lot.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

I could call you a cunt, if that makes you feel better Pepsi.

Pepsi said...

Cunts a pretty lazy sledge isnt Ramon, come on, lift your game, you can do better than that.

Ramon Insertnamehere said...

You're not worth it, Pepsi.

Pepsi said...

Thats better.

kitten said...

Hey Wari! How's it going? We could have a really long conversation about nothing at all, and Desci could end up with RSI.

What ever happened to Atari? I wonder if she watches over us?

What, like an angel? I don't think she's dead.

So is Boogeyman, but he makes busy with his time by making my life hell with all his 'logic' and 'reason', so I can understand why he hasn't the time to post.

You love it. What Perseus isn't telling you is that we email each other regularly to roster the next month's arguments. We never reach agreement though.

Cunts a pretty lazy sledge isnt Ramon, come on, lift your game, you can do better than that.

Pepsi, I put it to you that you are not the choice of a new generation.

If that isn't sledging I don't know what is.

wari lasi said...

I'm good kitten. Not sure what Desci's problem is.

C'est la vie. You can't please all the people.

I don't do abuse, so I have nothing to say really.

Perseus said...

Maybe Desci meant to write 'Lewd Bob' and wrote 'Wari Lasi' instead. That's my hunch.

wari lasi said...

An understandable typo Perseus I'm sure.

Good luck tonight by the way.

Lewd Bob said...

I thought the same thing, Perseus, but decided to keep quiet about it.

Desci said...

No, Bob and I are good now, aren't we? Among other things, Pers has vouched for him and that's good enough for me.

Wari's just creepy, annoying, unfunny and just generally a boring guy who's never contributed anything of worth. In my opion, of course. I've always thought so - I didn't realise no one else knew I don't dig him.

And as for Kitten, in the last few weeks she's just outed herself as a vapid slag.

But I don't go on about it, since I'm such a lovely fucking person.

Melba said...

I'll vouch for Wari. He gives good weather. And he's polite.

Stick with me, Wari, stand behind my skirts, I'll protect you. Desci loves me. At the moment.

Puss In Boots said...

Wari and Kitten, I wouldn't poke Desci if I were you. She can de-claw bears. Trust me, I know.

I don't hate anyone on here. I don't much find Lewd Bob's "historical" posts that amusing, but as I couldn't do better myself, and everyone else seems to love them, I don't say they're shit either. They're just 'meh' to me. But I like Bob otherwise.

Also, I am an uncultured swine, and don't much like the poetry posts either. Poetry does nothing for me. Now, if we were to have a weekly painting appreciation post, that I would go in for. We should start with Frederic, Lord Leighton's Flaming June which I saw at the Prado yesterday. The lighting made it look almost as if it was glowing. It was superb.

Lewd Bob said...

Puss, I did a post about Van Gogh. Didn't excite you?

catlick said...

Good morning Bob. Good morning youse'all. Yes, Happy Birthday to TSFKA and I still remember the flurry about the typo when this place was established in haste.
I had a quick flick through "Older Posts" and, gosh we are an erudite, thoughtful foul mouthed bunch.
I hope teh Hack et al are well and happy.

kitten said...

I think Desci has outed herself as someone without a sense of humour. Most of my posts have my tongue planted firmly in cheek, but since Perseus doesn't like emoticons, and I don't want to offend him, I no longer append smiley faces.

But I'm not a judgemental hater, so "whatever" as the kiddies say these days.

catlick said...

Oh dear.

Anonymous said...

Is it too late to revive this? Kitten can take over from Rigo. :)

And who's afraid of anti-emoticon nazis? :( Not I. :D

Unknown said...

I miss those MS Paint creations. :(

Puss In Boots said...

You know what they say, Kitten. If you need to put a smiley face after it to let people know it's funny, it's not funny.

I miss those MS Paint creations too, EMS.

Desci said...

Melba, I'll always love you - you're awesome. But someone who brags about fucking someone from a developing country, long after pointing out how desperate these girls are? Creepy. And who the fuck cares about the weather in Port Moresby (or indeed anything else he has to say).

Puss: You can hold your own, m'dear. Tussled all night, so we did.

Catlick, I remember too. The domain was grabbed in the utmost haste, hence the typos.

Kitten: It's the same joke played over and over again. You're like Rene Rivkin but less funny, because you don't seem intellectually disabled so you have no excuse.

Boogey: I'm too worn out for the great wars of old. I'm a sad old queen.

The MS Paint Classix were the work of Adam 1.0, interwebs king.

Perseus said...

I like everyone here.

But Puss is my favourite.

wari lasi said...

Don't recall the bragging bit Desci. It's not my style. For the record, you know absolutely nothing about me.

Of course you're entitled to your opinion and I'm not one to hang around where I'm not welcome.

Melba said...

Uh-oh. Just when people were commenting on it all being nice and lovey-dovey and different to the Bad Old Days.

bill yjoebob said...

all this love is almost enough to make me come out of retirement.

Lewd Bob said...

I'm all for heated discussion, disagreements and jolly good criticism, but can't we avoid personal insults? Wari makes a good point and that is you can tell fuck all about a person online*.

* Except for Perseus, of course, thanks to his overindulgence in personal insights.

Anonymous said...

Oh joy, billyblowjob's out of the mental asylum on day release.

All women stay away from the interwebs till mr grubby supersleaze is back in his strait-jacket.

but can't we avoid personal insults?

What I just said would be considered a 'good character reference' by BJB. He'll have that on his resume in no time.

Puss In Boots said...

Too bad it wasn't a different sort of tussling all night, Desci. But then, I like girls that wear colour.

Pers, I'm your favourite?? Of all the worthy people here?? What on earth for? I fail to see how I could be anyone's favourite. I'm thoroughly annoying.

Puss In Boots said...

Sorry, Bob. I'm sure it was all very amusing, but I just didn't think so. Also, I don't like Van Gogh. I'm not a fan of the 'too much paint on the canvas' look.

Maybe I should start putting up pictures of art work and starting discussions. Politics, poetry, sport, history, art, fashion, and Perseus' sex life! This blog will become a beacon of cultural integrity, it will!

catlick said...

"Of course you're entitled to your opinion and I'm not one to hang around where I'm not welcome."*

*Turns on heel, leads off, head up, R shoulder forward.

.....and scene!

kitten said...

Puss, emoticons provide a flat statement with tone and context.

I don't intend to be funny, more ironic, cynical, dry, and sarcastic.

Peace out ya'all

Desci said...

Witchie, I see you and it's more of that 'dislike so ignore' stuff, same as it ever was.

Puss, you minx. Almost worth me busting out my long-overlooked purple skirt (sure, it's purple-so-dark-it's-almost-black, but TECHNICALLY it's a colour).
