This is my God, now.
The Insertnamehere family has finally joined the digital age, with the arrival of our new set-top box.
The exciting world of digital television awaits; repeats of year-old documentaries, SBS, Father Ted.
I haven’t felt this excited since the last Federal election.
Also,
Father Ted!!!!!!!

ABC2 is great. Once the ABC stos kids programming at 10am, you can switch it straight over for the rest if the day. Not that I would ever do that, of course...
Noo, louche, that would never happen at our place, either.
Ignore my atrocious typing skills. I have a killer cold. Winter suxors.
Yeah we recently joined the digital age just so I could watch Keating the Musical (what's wrong with THAT?!)
But we went the full hog and got a flat screen telly. It didn't work, had to take it back and get another one...
Then discovered our HD DVD recorder doesn't tape digital channels and also tapes everything for this wide screen at poor quality...
Then also discovered that the minimalist speakers on the flat TV blast the sound upstsirs and keep the kids awake sooooooooo we got a sound system...
Or did we? Cos they had to get it in from another shop. They phoned me yesterday and I drove out there and it turns out only half the box was there. We'll call you when we find the speakers, they said...

Ramon,
...someting...something....Dining on the crumbs from technologies table...something...something..class traitor.....
Ramon, tell me you bought one with a hard drive so you can also record digital telly too.
Having switched over to digital a year ago, the only thing extra it seems to supply that's worth watching is ABC2.
Mr. E: Gold.

I don't even know what this box is, or what it does, or what digital television is, or how to use it.
All I know is that by the next Olympics they are promising to have like a zillion channels to choose from so you can watch whatever sport you want to for as long as you want to without Channel 7's slo-mo montage orgies.
It will become my God too if it your magic little box can do that.
By crikey Perseus, I've finally come across somebody who's a bigger n00b than myself.
No idea Boogey. it does seem to have electricity inside it though.
Does that help?
Some of those Eyetalian TV newsreaders are hubba hubba hubba, Ramon. You won't be able to tear your eyes off the second SBS channel.
Actually, looking at that picture, Ramon, are you sure you weren't sold a set of electronic bathroom scales by mistake?
I thought it was a clock radio
Boogey, I thought it was on of those fancy Tanita scales too. The ones that measure your body fat percentage. I thought Ramon was going to tell us he'd had a breakthrough and dropped to sub-10% like the Olympic athletes.
"I've finally come across somebody who's a bigger n00b than myself."
I don't even know what 'n00b' means.
Father Ted!!!!!!!
"Drink! Feck! Arse! Girls!"
"What would you say to a cup, Father?"
"Feck off cup!"
"Gobshite!"
I heart Father Jack. That was a great show.
Ahh, the elusive Ms Shorts.
When I grow old, I want to be Father Jack.
Why wait until you grow old? Start now, I say. Then you can make sure you get the tone exactly right.
Always the Luddite, Ramon. Everyone knows that digital PDRs are where its at these days.
digital PDRs
What!?
You're probably far too busy with your new fangled Betamax recorder to have moved on to PDRs, Ramon.
PDR = Personal Digital Recorder, Ramon. It has a hard drive so you can can record digital tv, not just watch it.
Before you know it, you'll be illegally torrenting files over a wireless home LAN and bluetoothing them onto your ipod to watch at work.

Is that something to do with the Internet?
Ignore them Ramon, they're just making up words.
Ramon, you too can now enjoy the awesomeness of Scrapheap Challenge which takes British bodging to new levels of brilliance, and it’s hosted by Kryton from Red Dwarf! Thursday nights are great, they run repeats of ABC 1 comedies plus British comedies like Mitchell and Webb from 8pm till 11pm.
About the only other thing that’s good about digital tv is the fact that the F1 starts at 9:50pm on the Channel 10 HD channel rather then 1 or 2am on the SD channel. The rest of it is just pointless and it sounds like it will be for another couple of years at least. Media Watch were chatting about this last week and mentioned it was because of some deal struck between the major networks and the government? Please anyone correct me if I’m wrong.
